Cannes

Description

Year two of Canva's Creative Cabana at Cannes was three times the size and twice the fun, no easy feat for an experience that had already established itself as a festival favorite. The goal was a beachside home base that felt like a physical manifestation of Canva.

Guests on the Canva Creative Cabana pool stage at Cannes, one wearing an inflatable sun costume, with rubber ducks floating in the pink tiled pool below.

Making a splash on the main stage.

The heart of our space was an on-stage pool where we hosted High Tide talks, a series of executive dinners, an AI Magic Show, and a positively fabulous Pride party that may or may not have included a surprise appearance from the Teletubbies. Variety wrote a whole article about it.

Two guests carrying blue striped on-brand, off-duty tote bags through the colorful entrance arch of the Canva Creative Cabana.

On-brand, off-duty.

The fun went way beyond the main stage, starting the moment guests hit the sand. The Creative Surf Shop greeted them at the entrance with a full "on-brand, off-duty" merch line that sold out before the week was through.

Postmarked from design paradise.

Just past the entrance was the Postcard Parlour. Here you could design your own postcard, print it on the spot, and send it anywhere in the world. By the end, 406 postcards had made the trip from Cannes to mailboxes across the globe.

From the mailbox to the freezer.

Next door, the sweetest spot in all of Cannes served 4,224 cups of gelato. Designed top to bottom with Canva AI, La Palette Gelateria proved Canva's latest tools can design anything, up to and including your afternoon indulgence.

A product that can take you places.

At Dream Destinations, attendees turned product demos into passport stamps. Guests used Canva to design their own escape, letting the tools do the heavy lifting while they picked the view. It made the "what can this thing do" question feel like a daydream you could hold on to.

Where the fun got to work.

The Solution Salon was where it all came together. Hands-on time with the tools let guests get into Canva properly, moving from "that looks fun" to "wait, I could actually use this on Monday."

Did we mention the confetti shower?

It rained on cue and never got old. We poured roughly 100kg of confetti over the week, about the weight of an adult giant panda, giving everyone a reason to look up, throw their arms out, and walk away with a photo they actually wanted to post.

Year two ended with a nickname and a trophy.

People chose to spend their time at Cannes on our sand, and the reach traveled far beyond it, with people all across social buzzing about our work. By the end of the festival, attendees and industry professionals alike were referring to the Creative Cabana as "colorful Canva." The nickname earned some hardware too, with our clients naming us Best Agency Partner for the second consecutive year and asking for something even bigger next time.
