We built an audience-first content framework serving creators, enterprise leaders, and partners simultaneously—scaling the venue, improving flow, diversifying programming, and introducing a reimagined sponsor marketplace that engaged audiences without disrupting Canva's visual identity.

After the massive success of Canva Create’s public debut in 2024, expectations for Year 2 were sky high. The challenge was twofold: deliver a larger, more impactful experience that would live up to the buzz of the inaugural event—and evolve it in a way that felt meaningful, not just bigger. Canva charged us with deepening awareness of their platform as a serious tool for work and productivity, accelerating enterprise pipeline growth, and continuing to position Create as a must-attend annual experience for both users and press.

Adding to the complexity: Canva Create 2025 had to serve multiple audiences simultaneously—from individual creators and small business owners to enterprise leaders and potential brand partners—all within one cohesive, deeply branded environment.

We anchored our strategy in an audience-first content framework. Rather than simply mapping business goals to messaging, we built the experience around what attendees would get from being there—tactile inspiration, actionable learning, product discovery, and community. This translated into a layered event ecosystem where every touchpoint was mapped against the attendee journey and intentionally designed to deliver value.

From content stages to creative activations, we expanded the event to deliver more of what worked in 2024—while addressing key attendee feedback. We scaled the venue footprint, increased session count, improved registration and flow, and diversified food and beverage options. We also introduced a completely reimagined Apps Marketplace: a sponsor integration zone designed with Canva’s brand identity at the forefront. Unlike a traditional expo hall, the Marketplace featured uniform, on-brand stalls where partners could engage audiences without disrupting the larger visual language of the event.

In-session demos, product trials, and face-to-face conversations let guests experience Canva Create their way.  Activations like “Uncharted” and the “Design School Labs” invited guests to explore Canva’s latest tools for work, collaboration, and creativity—highlighting enterprise functionality through hands-on play.

Canva Create 2025 sold out and expanded significantly over its first year. The event was widely described as the “Coachella of Creativity,” and Canva’s VP of Global Events remarked, “This just solidified why we chose you as our long-term partners.” Across business goals, audience engagement, and brand storytelling, Canva Create 2025 delivered a sequel that not only met the hype—it rewrote the playbook.
